The results of the 2007 Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) announced by the Audit Commission in February 2008 show that Rotherham is one of only 37 per cent of councils which are rated with the maximum four stars, and continues to be “improving well”. The Commission also assessed Rotherham as one of the top councils in the country for the way it manages its finances and delivers value for money. This is huge progress since 2003 when the council was given an official rating of “Weak”.
The CPA rating follows more national recognition. In December 2007, RMBC was named Public Sector Organisation of the Year by the British Computer Society because of the improvements brought about by RBT.
In 2006, RBT was named Public Private Partnership of the year in the prestigious Municipal Journal Awards.
